The onset of menopause occurs at an average age of 51.  This is marked by the time your ovaries naturally stop producing estrogen and you stop having menstrual periods.

Menopausal changes can bring on a wide range of symptoms like depression, hot flashes, irregular bleeding, insomnia or night sweats.  Our doctors are well equipped with treatment plans, such as hormone therapy, to help you manage symptoms and continue to lead an uninterrupted way of life.

There are many changes in your body with the onset of menopause.  In addition to the above symptoms and the end of your menstrual cycles, there are also changes in your bones.  With decreased levels of estrogen, more rapid bone loss occurs in females.   When to much bone loss occurs, this is called osteoporosis.
